RD-400 MODULAR CLAMSHELL

RD-400 MAIN DOME module

This is the core module with integrated shutterdrive system and electronics. The core module is equipped with a heavy bearing system for the five fold shutter system, constructed for prolonged reliable operation. With its twin portal system, you can have one or two doors. The portals can also be closed with blind panels, panels for installation of airco or ventilation.

The main dome unit can be combined with any of the shown modules, below, or a combination of modules to configure your particular observatory set-up

RISER 200 module

Roof- or foundation-adapter for flushmounting the main RD-400 clamshell dome unit.

Riser adapters can be combined to raise the dome if needed.

RISER 500 module

Roof- or foundation-adapter for flushmounting the main RD-400 dome unit.

Riser adapters can be combined to raise the dome if needed.

Riser 200 and Riser 500 can be stacked for furhter flexibilty.

CONICAL RISER module

Riser version for snowy environments, that can be combined with our Riser 200 and Riser 500 adapter rings. The conical riser module can flush or platform mounted. An optional mid-level floor and hatch with small ladder is also available. This riser module offer a small-size door with recessed door seat for absolutely tight closure of the access door.

RISER 2000 module

A full height riser module that can also be combined with any of the above adapter rings, or even the Conical Riser modul, to obtain the optimal configuration for your observatory.

This riser module has a full-size door with recessed door seat, for an absolute tight closure of the access door. 

Again, also here the optional mid-level floor and hatch with small ladder is available. A lighting kit with red and white light fixtures is available as an extra option. Ask us!

RISER 2000 SINGLE BAY module

This version of our stndard Riser 2000 module offers a full height wall, with a standard size door and one royally dimensioned equipment bay.

All supplied doors in all riser wall modules have security locks.

MId-level floor and lights kit is optional. A hermetically closing door with security lock is standard. The this module is also stackable with other modules.

RISER 2000 DUAL BAY module

A top of the line version of our standard Riser 2000 module that again offers full height walls, with a standard size door and two royally dimensioned equipment bays for instrumentation or storage.

A lights kit is available. Stackable with all other modules or stand-alone with the dome main module.
