Standard RISER 200

The RISER 200 is an adapter ring to bring up the dome at about 200MM above the foundation. Typically this is then flush-mounted.  The ring is attached to the concrete with either glued- or impact-achors. You can freely use the inside of the ring to lay and conceal any power, or data cabling, entering the dome.

We will help and support you in this phase of your project with the planning,. In case our team also installs your dome, they will play an important role and have many suggestions on how to do things best.

It is on this adapter that the dome is installed, the specially shaped profile of the ring enables efficient sealing of the dome and the RISER 200 support ring.

The RISER 200  offers the most simple way to install the RD-400 clamshell dome on a concrete foundation.

For most privat observatories this setup will be be just fine, because the RD-400 clamshell dome offers an unobstructed view of the sky down to the horizon.

Important here, is the correct positioning of the telescope in the dome. In case you are uncertain: let us do a simulation of your telescope and mount, to find the correct size of the telescope pier.

Ask us: we have the solution!

In this configuration you can install telescopes of up to 20 inch. Aperture  is everything, they say.

But never forget the only and most important function of your RD-400 clamshell dome is to PROTECT your expensive telescope.

That is what it does best.

Consider during the planning phase,  that your telescope must be safely (and correctly!) parked in the dome.

DOME PARTS optical can help with CAD simulations of your equipment.
